Veendam Day 6 - Cozumel

Cozumel was pretty uneventful -- a time for relaxing. The Mexican government has groomed Cozumel as a tourist trap of epic proportions, so it's almost entirely made of up shops designed to take your money on jewelry and other trinkets. The other main thing that is to be done in Cozumel is snorkeling and scuba, which are both supposed to be wonderful, but the choppy waters meant that all of the snorkeling and scuba excursions (as well as a couple of other boating-related ones) were canceled.

That night there was a bar-b-que on deck, they had bratwurst, chicken, pork, and beef, cooked out on the Lido deck. This was followed by a demonstration of making ice sculptures. Normally, on land, people doing ice sculptures can use chainsaws to do the initial cutting to get the rough shape. Because of the unpredictability of the sea, though, this has to be all done by hand on a boat. Looks like hard work!
